Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Dear Mecca Center Community,

Due to the dangerously cold temperatures forecasted for Friday, January 23, and out of concern for the safety of our students, staff, volunteers, and community, all programs and classes will be canceled for the day. This includes all programs under The Mecca Quran Institute, The Mecca MVMT, and Quran Blossoms School.

For those who are able to attend safely, there will be one Jumuah prayer only at 1:15 PM, and Maghrib and Isha will be combined inshAllah.

Allah (SWT) reminds us in the Holy Quran:

   يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَ  

“Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:185)

The Prophet ﷺ instructed the believers to pray at home during severe weather. Those for whom the cold presents a hardship, especially the elderly, young children, or anyone with health concerns, are excused from attending Jumuah and may pray Dhuhr at home. Remember that Allah (SWT) rewards us according to our intentions inshAllah.
