The Mecca Center was honored to host a group of 120 students from Rock Valley College who were touring various houses of worship and learning about the world’s religions. They visited The Mecca Center to learn about Islam.

Dr. Feryal Salem led a comprehensive “Introduction to Islam” presentation followed by a Q&A session. All female guests were gifted colorful scarves, and the students had the opportunity to tour the musallah. We spoke about the role of the masjid in the lives of American Muslims, as well as Islamic art and calligraphy. Everyone then spent some quiet, contemplative time in the prayer area. Alhamdulillah, everyone had a wonderful experience!

The Mecca Center is always open to guests and faith partners, and we will continue to engage with the wider community and build bridges of understanding.
