With the dawn of a beautiful new scouting year upon us, we pause to celebrate and reflect on what was a truly blessed
season of faith, friendship, and extraordinary momentum, Alhamdulillah.
The undisputed highlight of our year was the unforgettable weekend retreat at Camp Benson. Whether our girls were
conquering their fears on the high ropes and zip line, or echoing with laughter down the thrilling ‘twilight zone’ sled
ride, their vibrant energy was contagious. Together, we adventured through natural rock ravines and unleashed our
creativity splashing colors onto tie-dye gear. Yet, the most beautiful moments were those spent grounding ourselves in
faith; standing shoulder to shoulder in prayer before gathering around the warm glow of the campfire for our beloved
songs and skits.
Over the last year our troop also embraced the spirit of service. Together, we packed 600 winter and hygiene kits for Chi-
Care Chicago and Muslim Women’s Alliance, and assembled 500 Ramadan food boxes for a Mecca Center initiative
alongside Madina Community.
Throughout the year, every level thrived:
- Daisies: Mastered fire safety and earned their “Helping Others” petal by assembling food pantry cake kits.
- 2nd-Year Daisies: Built first aid kits and explored the physics of movement through kinetic spin art and
pendulum painting. - Brownies: Tapped into their creativity with hands-on pottery painting and built on foundational archery skills.
- Juniors: Learned to fish with a local expert, tackled an electrical engineering STEM challenge, and proudly
bridged to Cadettes!
Beyond badge work, our sisterhood grew through a cozy Mother-Daughter Ramadan Iftar, a festive Eid swimming
celebration, and a winter ice skating outting.
Thanks to this incredible momentum, we are stepping into fall with an exciting milestone: expanding into two sister
troops, Troop 25602 and Troop 25605! This evolution allows us to better serve our growing girls as they build life skills,
faith, and lifelong friendships side by side.
This year, insh’Allah, we are ready to reach even greater heights. Here is to another blessed year of service, learning, and
sisterhood!
