The Mecca Center Girl Scouts wants our community to go green! We are participating in the TREX challenge which is the collection of all CLEAN plastic bags and films for recycling directly into Trex composite deck material.

Normally, you cannot recycle plastic bags and film in general recycling bins, but Trex wants our plastic bags to recycle and produce composite decking materials. The Troop has already collected 3 boxes full of plastic that has been diverted from the landfill. Could you please help?

Save all plastic bags and films and drop them off at the TREX bins within the Mecca Center lobby or back parking entrance. If our masjid collects enough plastic bags, we will earn a brand new bench! Please do NOT throw in any other recyclables or trash as the TREX bins are ONLY for plastic bags and film. There will be general recycling bins placed throughout the center soon insha’Allah.
