Position: Arabic Language Instructor (Adult Education)

Our adult education department is expanding its offerings to meet the growing demand for advanced Arabic instruction tailored to adult learners seeking university-level proficiency.

Position Summary:
The Mecca Center is seeking a qualified and experienced Arabic Language Instructor to lead university-level Arabic courses for adult learners. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Arabic language instruction and experience teaching grammar, reading comprehension, writing, and conversation at an advanced level.

Responsibilities:
•⁠ ⁠Deliver a structured Arabic course aligned with university standards
•⁠ ⁠Prepare engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments
•⁠ ⁠Teach grammar, syntax, and morphology in classical (fuṣḥā) spoken Arabic
•⁠ ⁠Provide regular feedback to students and monitor progress
•⁠ ⁠Maintain a supportive, respectful, and intellectually enriching classroom environment
•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with the Adult Education team to ensure alignment with institutional goals

Qualifications:
•⁠ ⁠Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
•⁠ ⁠Experience teaching Arabic to adult learners at a university or institutional level (minimum 3 years preferred).
•⁠ ⁠Strong command of classical and modern standard Arabic, with proficiency in English for instruction.
•⁠ ⁠Ability to teach in-person at The Mecca Center.
•⁠ ⁠Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with Islamic terminology and classical texts and proficiency in Qurʾanic reading and pronunciation

Preferred Qualifications:
•⁠ ⁠Experience teaching in Islamic centers, colleges, or university settings
•⁠ ⁠Ability to integrate cultural and religious texts into language instruction when appropriate
•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with online teaching platforms (if hybrid or virtual instruction is needed)

Schedule and Compensation:
•⁠ ⁠Classes will be held in the evenings or weekends (flexible scheduling based on instructor’s availability and demand)
•⁠ ⁠Competitive compensation based on experience and credentials
