An Evening with Humza Yousaf Europe’s First Muslim Head of Government

November 7 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Please join the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), The Mecca Center, and the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC) for a historic evening with the Honorable Humza Yousaf, former First Minister of Scotland.

In 2023, Mr. Yousaf made history as the youngest person, the first Muslim, and the first Scottish Asian to serve as Scotland’s First Minister—becoming Europe’s first Muslim head of government. He is married to Nadia El-Nakla, a Scottish-Palestinian who was also recently elected as a city council member, and whose parents were in the Gaza Strip when Israel began its war on Gaza in 2023. This experience deeply impacted their family and shaped Mr. Yousaf’s outspoken advocacy for peace and humanitarian justice.

Join us at The Mecca Center on November 7th, as we celebrate Mr. Yousaf’s groundbreaking leadership and engage in a powerful conversation spanning geopolitics, global migration conflicts, transnational business issues, and the genocide in Gaza. This event offers the Chicagoland Muslim community a rare opportunity to hear firsthand from an inspiring world leader in global politics today.
