By Rana Abudaoud

The Mecca Quran Institute’s first summer program began on July 9th with the aim of helping students benefit from their summer break and fill their time with lessons that guide them on the right path.

Our team was very busy this summer with organizing different camp programs for all ages.

The kids summer program ages six to twelve was led by sister Diana Khankan and focused on teaching the children the five pillars of Islam, wudu, and salah, along with reading and memorizing the Quran. The children did a simulation of Hajj and took a beautiful field trip to the Brookfield Zoo. They all benefited from their summer which will leave them with great memories in the future.

Another program, led by Rana Abudaoud, was the Sahib al-Quran girls camp. This camp was a four-week intensive Hifdh program with ‘Ilm Tajweed, the study of the hadith book Riyadh Al-Saliheen, which focuses on the manners of Sahib al Quran. They also had a beautiful writing and public speaking class. The girls enjoyed having sports and exercise to freshen their minds and create a competitive environment.

The youth boys ages eleven to fifteen were offered a great summer program that was led by Sheikh Tariq Musleh and Sheikh Sabri El-Mansouri. The youth spent time doing Hifdh and studied Fiqh and Tafseer. They would gather to pray and sit for a short lesson, then ended their day with free time in the gym. They also went out for activities which created brotherhood between them.

With the summer concluding, we ask Allah (swt) to accept from all of our teachers and students and guide them with His mercy.

We invite all of you to register for the MQI programs starting this fall!
