إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
With a heavy heart, great sadness, and the full acceptance of Allah’s decree, The Mecca Center mourns the passing of Dr. Muhib Alattar, Abu Hamid. Dr. Muhib Alattar, 57, who passed away unexpectedly last Saturday, January 15, 2022 in Scottsdale, Arizona, right after his Fajr prayer while asleep.
Abu Hamid is survived by his wife, Sana, and his two children, Dr. Zena, and Hamid, an MD candidate. Dr. Alattar was one of the few who originated the idea for the need for a new mosque and community center in our area. That idea culminated into The Mecca Center, alhamdulillah.
He served our community on the Steering Committee and delivered a khutbah. Abu Hamid is remembered by our community members for his deep Islamic knowledge, remarkable commitment to learning, pleasant delivery, light-hearted presence, keen mind, and sparkling wit. He had an outstanding ability to connect with everyone and bring people together.
May Allah (SWT) shower him with His Mercy, forgive his sins, and grant him Jannah. Azza will be accepted by his Brother-In-law Dr. Sami Bittar and many of his classmates at The Mecca Center Banquet Hall on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 7 to 8pm.
رحمه الله وغفر له واسكنه فسيح جناته
