The Mecca Center Girl Scouts recently enjoyed the beautiful outdoors during their February meeting at Camp Greene Wood. They strapped on snowshoes to hike while exploring Allah (SWT) creations throughout the forest and warmed up afterwards with hot cocoa around a campfire. In addition, they created winter bird garlands using dried fruit to gain good deeds for feeding animals. This provided a good opportunity for the girls to learn about cold and frostbite safety education.

The girl scouts also participated in a cookie bash to kick off cookie booth sales. They had fun working together to prep signs and taste test cookies to help their marketing strategies. They’ve worked very hard selling cookies to friends and family digitally, door-to-door and at cookie booths. They are determined to reach their sales goals and raise funds for their troop activities and service projects.

The girl scouts also volunteered at the Hinsdale Humane Society to help care for animals in need. They learned about animal welfare, rescue, and care.
