Asalamu Alaikum, Dear Mecca Center Community,
The Mecca MVMT extends its sincere gratefulness and appreciation to all who attended and participated in our One Year Anniversary Gala: Reviving Young Hearts this past Saturday at Ashton Place.
Alhamdulillah, the room was packed with community members from across Chicagoland and beyond who believe in our mission of providing youth with a forum in which they can spiritually, intellectually, and socially grow through education, service, and recreation.
We are truly proud of the fact that the Mecca MVMT is run by the youth for the youth. This event, like our programs, allowed our youth to both be the organizers and presenters. For this, we recognize them for their talent and hard work in sharing the Mecca MVMT with our community.
While the room was full, we did not expect the turnout to exceed room capacity and sincerely apologize to those who attended but that we could not seat or host. We will anticipate this in the future to accommodate our guests, insha’Allah.
Among our esteemed guests was our guest of honor, Imam Suhaib Webb, who inspired the audience by recalling our duties and responsibilities as Muslims to nurture the well being of generations to come. We thank him immensely for joining us as we celebrated youth at this momentous MVMT occasion.
We thank The Mecca Center, our volunteers, and the selfless community members who came together to help make our first-ever Gala possible. We are also grateful to our sponsors who generously supported us in making our first Gala a success, alhamdulillah.
As stated during the event, what the MVMT has accomplished in the past year is just the beginning. We will keep moving and we hope to have you join us in laying the foundation we are building for our community’s future.
Thank you and Jazakum Allahu Khairan,
Sheikh Tariq Musleh
The Mecca MVMT
