This year, the Mecca Quran Institute (MQI)’s Summer Camp for boys and girls ages 6 through 10 is themed “Love You Rasoul Allah” and includes Quran, Islamic studies, activities, and field trips to promote the spiritual enrichment of our children and future generations of American Muslims.

Every day, students study and discuss the Quran and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with their teachers and learn valuable lessons about how to be positive, well-rounded, and responsible contributors to society. From learning about their Islamic heritage by creating family trees, to developing teamwork and social skills through extracurricular activities in the Mecca Center gym, the camp aims to nurture our students’ spiritual development in an Islamic context.

As part of the camp’s most recent field trip, over 80 children explored the Adler Planetarium in Chicago which offered them a better understanding of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Miracle of the Miraj, when he ascended to beyond the seven skies (seventh heaven) to Paradise and returned in one night. In Paradise, he saw our Prophets (SA), its inhabitants, and the enjoyment they receive.
