The Mecca Center: Fire Drill Announcement for August 30
The Mecca Center in coordination with the Tri-State Fire Protection District will conduct a Fire Drill on Friday, August 30, 2019 immediately after the completion of Jummah prayer. The Fire Drill will run for 5 to 7 minutes. It will help familiarize community members with the sound of the alarm system and how to safely practice evacuation procedures. All community members attending Friday Prayer are required to participate in this drill.
- No one is allowed to leave the premises until after the completion of the Fire Drill.
- Any additional prayer(s) after Jummah prayer must be held after the completion of the Fire Drill. Community members are not allowed to retrieve their shoes or belongings after the sirens go off. Foot covers will be provided to all community members. Designated members of our crisis response team will direct individuals to the appropriate exits.
- All parents must be with their children at all times. Please communicate to your child that we will be participating in a Fire Drill and an alarm will sound immediately after prayer.
- All elderly and disabled (both men and women) will pray on the first floor.
- It is very important to follow the directions of our crisis response team during the Fire Drill. Please keep in mind that your participation and cooperation will help ensure that our plan is safe and workable and that everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency.
